Abby’s Sleepover

Jeanette and I had to go downtown so we took both Abby and Ada. Later, when Abby’s mother came to drop off some things and asked what they had done, the girls both told her that they went to a mall.

Once that was cleared up, they destroyed the kitchen making a cake, then fell asleep with the lights on and the television on.

Paying It Forward

Ada likes Helena to do her hair in the morning. One evening Helena told Ada that it takes too much time and that she didn’t want to do it every day.

Ada knows that Helena likes to make toast in the morning while waiting for the rest of us to get up. So Ada thought about it and made the toast at night, complete with peanut butter, so that she wouldn’t have to spend the time on that in the morning, clearing up some time for Helena to do her hair. Genius!

Ada Hurts Her Head

When coming home to an unfinished duct work, Ada found it interesting to look down into the basement. When raising her head after looking down, she dented the duct work with her head on the part hanging down from the ceiling. She did her best not to cry, but she hit is pretty hard, which you can tell from the photo since she dented the duct.

MEA Day Trip

Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store was our first stop.

Lau’s Bakery in New Prague

Then on to Northfield where we visited, as non-guests, both St Olaf and Carlton Colleges. Books seem to be a bit cheaper, when adjusting for inflation.

Next stop was Barn Bluff in Red Wing for some hiking.

On our way home we stopped at Hastings Cremery for some ice cream and, for Jeanette, butter. We parked next to someone who must have been on the way back from the teacher conference.
